Five Years On

I debated about whether to put this post up or not--I feel like all of us are suffering from Katrina fatigue--or at the very least, Katrina anniversary fatigue. In some ways, it seems like it happened yesterday--in others, it feels like a lifetime ago.

So, I'll give you the option of whether you want to read my five-year post or not. If you do, it's here.

I think you have a way with words that allows those of us who didn't go through these agonies to read, and feel, just a fraction of what you all went through. I think it's needed. Thank you.

I have taken a few days and read your entire blog. I have a brother that has lived in NOLA for over 35yrs and I have been a visitor many many times. It has meant a great deal to read an authentic account of a normal life experiencing an abnormal event. My brother and his wife had a different experience but to both families the fact that you stayed and have survived to gain your version of normalcy again just plain makes me happy!
